Syndentos® the synthetic bone
augmentation material to rebuild lost bone.
Bone
augmentation during dental implantation is a procedure which is necessary as
preparation stage before dental implants with insufficient bone volume.
In dentistry,
bone augmentation or grafting refers to the rebuilding of lost bone. When our
adult tooth grows and develops it brings a certain amount of bone with it to
support it in the jaw. As time goes on and a periodontal disease take place
like; infection around a tooth, or root end abscess, or tooth decay, the tooth
is often extracted. Once a tooth is lost (for any reason), the bone that has
developed with that tooth is resorbed (removed) by the body. There is now a
void or defect left by the missing tooth. This defect can be corrected by
rebuilding the lost bone in the jaw with Syndentos® which is a synthetic bone
substitute. Bone augmentation with Syndentos® is performed under local
anesthesia, is safe, and painless.
Why in some
cases it is necessary to conduct such bone substitute manipulations, while
others are happy with their current bones? The answer is very simple. There are
a number of factors that can lead to atrophy, resorption of bone tissue. The
main ones are:
- -inflammatory
process: the continued existence of the inflammation leads to resorption of
bone tissue near the root tips;
- -traumatic
tooth extraction;
- -the
prolonged absence of a tooth: the presence of dentition defect of more than 3
months leads to atrophy of the bone tissue – a reduction in volume is due to
the lack of load, such atrophy is called functional;
- -periodontal
diseases: periodontitis, periodontal disease accompanied by progressive bone
resorption.
Following
dental defects can be treated with Syndentos®:
Alveolar Ridge Augmentation;
- Sinus lift;
- Filling of extraction sockets;
- Prefilling of drilled implantation sites
before placing the dental implant;
- Filling of root canals after removing of
nerve and rest organic material.
